Image Compositing

Image compositing is combining 2 or more images into one to create a unrealistic scene.
These photos can be used for false advertising, propaganda, or just for fun.  The rule of thirds is basically a photo taking technique where you divide your screen into thirds and where the lines intersect you put the focus of your shot. I believe that before photographers take their pictures they go through most of the techniques and decide the best one for the situation. Some photos should be left alone in my opinion because sometimes editing a picture can take away from the beauty of it.

I believe the strongest image concept that i came up with is the one about starting wars. This picture will show a person's hand shooting a bullet at innocent bystanders and it will show that war has gone to far and we need to stop. I plan on taking the all of the pictures from the same angle and to the side so that i can combine them correctly. I think that the viewers eye will go to the bullet first because it will be the object that is the most different from the rest. The viewers eye could also go to the hand because it will be the biggest thing in the frame.

Modern Art Movement

First, what cultural movement gave rise to the art style in your presentation? Explain the influence that your art movement has on the arts and communication industry. How do artists contribute to culture and fulfill a societal need? Describe your personal thoughts about this art movement. (6 Sentence minimum)

Kinetic art was led by artists of the Dadaist and Constructivist traditions in the early 1910's. But it wasn't until 1955 that it got officially recognised as a major art movement. One of founding documents was the 'Yellow Manifesto' it was written by Victor Vasarely. Kinetic art has given lots of jobs and money to the communication industry because some of the at pieces are quite expencive and time consuming to make.

Visual Statement

First, explain your topic & message... Why it's important to you and your partner(s)? Then put the project goal into your own words, detailing the project requirements. Link to your partner(s) blogs and describe their roles on the team and how they contributed to the production of your visual statement.

Our topic is Exploring Nature and our message is to get outside and experience the beautiful world we have. Most people just stay at home and don't do anything when they could be out enjoying life. I feel like it is important to us because want to see the positive effect that nature has on people and we live on such a beautiful island how could you not go outside and adventure. The project that we have created had to be between 2 and 3 minutes have music and a script we could only use pictures and videos that we have taken, also we had to make it meaningful and be able to move the audience. Al Deejay Camacho was my partner for this project, I think that i couldn't have gotten luckier with a partner Deejay has taken the role of a leader and he has done most of the work for this project.

All of the tips and tricks that we have learned when creating this project have really helped the project go way smoother. Tricks such as using audio ramping, speed ramping, jump cuts, and graphic match cuts. have really pulled this project together

GOAL: Create a 2-3 minute visual statement that gives your personal view about an issue that is relevant to your audience. Support your high quality voiceover with relevant and proprietary visuals: video, photos or a mix of both. You may also use royalty free music or create your own Garage Band soundtrack. Finally, work together to skillfully edit all of the pieces together using Final Cut Pro.

Then, tell us about the Final Cut Pro editing tips and tricks you've learned and how you incorporated them in your video. Why is it important to use FCPX Libraries, Events and Projects properly? Explain why audio levels in different clips can vary drastically and how to correctly balance what your audience will hear. Which part of your video do you think displays higher quality... the audio or the video and why? (6 sentence minimum)

Workplace Safety

Our project goal was to teach our classmates what a SDS or Safety data sheet are. My team has three people Kyle, Sharon, and me. I think that we all contributed a fair amount, I wrote most of the visual plan and some of the script as well. Kyle edited the video and wrote some of the script with sharon.  I think that kyle deserves some recognition for editing the video because we has just about no time left and somehow he was able to finish the project just in the nick of time. If we could have done anything better next time i think we could have saved more time for editing and taken more clips.

When preparing and recording this project I learned a little more about SDS but I think that the biggest takeaway that I got was learning how to use imovie. Before this project I had no idea how to use Imovie but now I think I have a good grip on how it works now. Our top scoring area was relevance of visuals and our lowest was entertainment value, I believe this is due to the fact that we had about 20 seconds of black screen at the end with no pictures. Even though we didn't do so good on entertainment i am glad that the visuals were good because that was the part that I was in charge of. If I ever do a project like this again I would save more time for editing. Another thing would do is get some clips of the actors talking to the camera so we had some more entertainment value i think it seemed kinda repetitive more diversity in the clips would have helped us a lot.

Art and Design

In my Still life drawings i used likes to shade and give more detail to certain objects. I also used contrast and closure to make objects more defined. I used a large brush outline the things in the picture it was about 20 pixels. then to detail I used a 5 pixel brush it let me get way more detailed and it looks more realistic. I think that creating the texture is the best part because it is really fun but the worst part in my opinion is the shading because it takes so long and you have to be so precise.

I got my photo off of pexels I am not sure where it was taken. The man in the portrait is a old fisherman it doesn't really have any meaning to me but I thought it would look kinda cool with this project.

Audio Production

Intonation and inflection can intrigue the audience. It is one by raising and lowering the tone and pitch of your so you dont sound like a robot. When recording this my role was a radio show host or vocal talent. I had to record a script with my team about the communication industry. We probably had to restart about 20 times there is no way that we could have gotten it on the first try and even if we did it would have not been refined because we slightly changed the script over the retries.

My team did Quite well and gt 4's in all of the categories. I think that we got the message across very well and entertained the audience at the same time. we had a ride time finding a good place to record because of all of the background noise. Finally we went into the library where it was really quiet and got a good recording. I think that if we had to redo this again we would probably immediately go to the library. Also we could probably could have gotten a better recording.

Proprietary Information

Copyright infringement is when somebody uses work protected by copyright laws and says that is is the own work. You can get up to 5 years in jail and fine of $150,000. If it is your second offense 10 years in jail and have to pay a fee of up to $250,000 plus all of the legal fees. To use copyright material legally all you need to do is contact the owner and if there is payment required pay it. Then get your agreement in writing.  the only way around this is to use the work under "fair use" witch says that you can use copyright information without a agreement with the owner if it is for teaching, news reporting, criticism, and research.
